With 30 years of experience, Dr. Christopher Long has a wealth of Chiropractic knowledge to draw on when taking care of the health of families, babies and children.
Dr Chris’ interest in spinal health began after chiropractic care for an injury sustained while playing elite junior tennis. This interest in healthcare turned professional in 1987 when he was accepted into the Chiropractic degree at RMIT (PIT at the time). Having completed the undergraduate program, he moved to Bairnsdale to complete his fieldwork and graduated in 1992. In 1994 he established Bairnsdale Family Chiropractic which grew from a single chiropractor practice to include a naturopath, massage therapist and acupuncturist, the first of its kind in the region. This necessitated the move to the modern facility at 339 Main St. in 2000. Dr Chris continued to build on his passion pursuing further studies in Sacro-occipital technique, Applied Kinesiology, Chiropractic Biophysics (postural correction for the spine) and pediatrics. In October 2021, with the State of Victoria in turmoil and continued uncertainty, Dr. Chris moved to the current location.
2003 saw the arrival of his first child. Baby Chloe had her first spinal check at 4 hours old. Baby Phoebe arrived 2 years later, receiving the same important check. Wanting to dedicate more time to his young family, Dr Chris merged and handed over the reigns of Bairnsdale Family Chiropractic to McMillan Chiropractic Centre in 2008.
Dr Chris’ second studied passion is scuba diving, being a highly trained technical CCR diver with a focus on deep wrecks. His other interests include competition motor sport (winning the Grand Prix Rally with a colleague), and travel.
